Job Description

Position Overview: The Quality Assurance Manager manages and implements the quality management operations and quality improvement for an RCA facility. Develop policies and initiatives with focus on sustaining and improving patient safety and the quality of patient care delivery and outcomes. Directs the oversight of the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. Lead implementation of measurements that monitor and assess processes and workflows for areas of improvement. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.


Specific Responsibilities:
* Manages and oversees the Health Information Systems (HIS) department, including hiring, training, and managing department staff.
* Drafts quality assurance policies and procedures for Director's review
* Interprets and implements quality assurance standards.
* Evaluates adequacy of quality assurance standards
* Devise sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data
* Plans, conducts, and monitors testing and inspection of medical records an treatment plans to ensure financial product quality
* Documents internal audits and other quality assurance activities
* Investigates customer complaints and non-conformance issues
* Collects and compiles statistical quality data; analyzes data for non-conformance issues; prepares reports to communicate outcomes of quality activities.
* Identifies training needs and organizes training to meet quality standards
* Coordinates and supports on-site audits conducted by external providers; monitors risk activities
* Oversight of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
* Ensures ongoing compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements.


Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in related field; or LPN or RN
* 5+ years' experience in behavioral healthcare field required
* Strong knowledge of tools, concepts and methodology of quality assurance
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements
* Experience with implementation of corrective action programs in quality
* Strong verbal and written communication skills

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.


Travel: Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
